The 2027 dates are set, four weeks at the villa, each with a working artist:

• Medieval Book Illumination with Julia Bangert, 25 to 31 July
• Gelliprint & Collage with Cynthia Thomasset and Kitty Corrigan, 31 August to 6 September
• Lino Printing with Jan Conradi, 28 September to 4 October
• Botanical Monotypes & Tetra Pak with Petra Janoušková, 5 to 11 October

Fourteen guests a week, eight suites, Mathew and Nigel in the kitchen, and no experience needed. The Gelliprint week is already half full, mostly with guests who are coming back.

Here's what I've seen in the studio. With guidance, encouragement, time to explore and experiment, and a new setting where you're undefined, who's to say you're not an artist? A young woman in medicine who told us she didn't care for the art made 62 prints.

I'm not an artist either, and I host art weeks.

Book Illumination is our only summer week, 25 to 31 July, and the suites are still open, so whoever books first chooses first.

Julia Bangert teaches gilding with real gold leaf, ornamental lettering, and the medieval animals and patterns of the old manuscripts. It's a quiet, absorbing week, perfect for the stressed monkey-brain, for book lovers and history lovers, and for teachers who can only travel in summer.
